If You Give A Mouse A Cookie: The Gritty Reboot

If you give a mouse a cookie, he's going to ask for a glass of milk. When you give him the milk, it's too late...

Creating a twisted adaptation of the children's story "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie" by Laura Numeroff was a ton of fun. We had just purchased a DJI Ronin (3-axis camera gimbal stabilizer) only days before this shoot, and decided to give ourselves a crash course… by designing a video that would consist of one continuous take. After hours of rehearsal on set, we knocked out the shoot over the course of the day, finishing just before sundown. If you’ve ever held a fully-kitted gimbal stabilizer, you’ll know the pain of shooting with one for an entire day. Thankfully, this project won us a Best Cinematography award at the Bleedingham horror film festival… which helped offset the back pain. :D
